Wirral Bus Fire Back

Wirral Bus Fire

On Tuesday a double-decker bus was set on fire. The fire was a result of a fault in the vehicle's engine. The bus transported children to and from the Wirral Grammar School for Boys in Bebington, Wirral.

The fire occurred on Cross Lane at 3pm. Merseyside Fire and Rescue sent two fire engines to the scene.

Luckily nobody was injured during the blaze.

A volunteer for the School, Andy McLannahan, told North West Fire Solutions: "The back of the bus was on fire and everyone was evacuated by staff from the school and the bus driver."

“There was a lot of smoke but the fire was put out quite quickly.”

North West Fire Solutions offers fire safety training on the Wirral.
